Celebrity Wife Swap

Most of you that saw the recent episode of Celebrity Wife Swap got to see a piece of our real lives and it seems like you were excited about that. It also seemed like most of you enjoyed it as entertaining television. But what you didn’t see was all the moments that were shot only to end up on the editing room floor.

I don’t watch much television because Ronn and I prefer watching movies, although we are into some shows that we have caught onto from Internet buzz such as, “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones.” I use to watch the soaps, but find them quite boring these days and I never follow reality shows.

So when Celebrity Wife Swap approached us to guest on their popular ABC show, Ronn was skeptical. I did my research and actually spoke with a former guest star, Eliza Roberts who is married to Eric Roberts. She had nothing but praise for the PG rated Disney primetime series that fans seem to love.

Most reality shows tend to want people to create drama and make themselves look foolish, as this is what they think viewers want to see. Celebrity Wife Swap is a show that places two wives into each other’s homes to run their households in their shoes.  The differences between the two families, is what the show likes to embrace and show what each family got from the experience at the end.

As with most reality shows, what you end up seeing on screen isn’t always literally what happened or a correct picture of who the person is or what really happened. They shoot so much footage, ninety percent of which isn’t shown to get a story that they want to tell.

By the time it goes to the editor only a fraction of that is chopped up to give you a show. And the editor can decide to make someone look a certain way depending on how it’s edited because so much it taken out of context.

 TylerRonWifeSwap

For example, everyone knows I love to cook and I did a four- course dinner that included, crabcakes, tomato basil soup and shrimp Creole none of which was shown on that episode. I also do speaking engagements to empower women and one of those engagements was filmed for Brie to do, which wasn’t shown.  Brie and Ronn went horseback riding and that wasn’t shown. Ronn wrote a wonderful handwritten note to Brie that made her cry and that wasn’t shown. Brie got to sing with Player and had a blast and that wasn’t shown. So many moments with Graysun and me were not shown. Graysun told me he loved me and we had so many playful moments and only a fraction of that was shown.

So what you ended up seeing was only a fraction of what really happened. The truth was that we all got along great and there was no conflict, so they edited what little they had to make it seem like there could be some conflict or irritation, when in fact, there wasn’t much of any.

ronnmoss_devindevasquez_01_5x4

Since this was a rare episode about two soap stars, it made good television to have them without their shirts on taking about love. It’s what soap fans want to see and I know this firsthand because I’m a soap fan.  What was indeed real were my feelings for little Graysun. How could you not fall in love with that adorable kid?  And I did immediately bond with him and get him to eat what I cooked.

Ronn is very much an outdoor guy. He loves to bike ride and is in great shape because he’s been active with martial arts and sports his whole life. But we both are not big on being out in the sun for hours on end. We like to visit the beach, but prefer living in the country or the mountains.

However, Ronn does not like bikes made for two people and prefers a motorcycle instead. And the garage is an important place for his creativity with music. So they played on her doing things that would rub him the wrong way and they constantly do these snippets of interviews to get you tell how you feel about it? Then when they edit they can grab what they want to put with visuals and tell a story the way they want to depict it.

So just like you can’t believe everything you read, you can’t believe everything you see on reality TV. It’s meant to be entertaining and that’s exactly what it was in the end. We wanted to have fun with what we had to do and that’s what we did. What you saw was fun, heartwarming, sweet and sexy.  So I guess we all did our job and gave audiences and hour of television that is still being talked about.

Hopefully this will create great ratings for Celebrity Wife Swap and show producers that the concept of having two soap hunks show off a piece of their real lives was a win/win for everyone.  I know you can never please everyone and there are always people who will want to cut you down no matter what, but one things is for certain and that’s love.  And alot of love was presented in spades in this episode.

Our goal for doing this show was to give our fans a glimpse into our real lives. As most of you know Ronn does make me daily cappuccinos with love and is the most generous caring human being to his fans and friends. I am a lucky girl and am more than happy to cook for him, the band and friends because I love doing it.  Anyone that says anything otherwise doesn’t know us, and it doesn’t matter anyway.  All in all Celebrity Wife Swap was sheer entertainment that made us all laugh for an hour.

Italy’s Reaction To Nu-Ridge

 Ronn

I want you guys to know that I’m writing this particular post as a fan of “The Bold and The Beautiful” myself and not as Ronn’s wife.

We have been bombarded with emails about how upset our beloved seconda casa Italy is about seeing a Nu-Ridge on their TV sets. It seems they are not happy with this and it’s causing an uproar with fans.

I see the good, the bad and the ugly from soap fans on a daily basis and from the looks of things the majority of fans are starting to really speak out about the stupid storylines and the fact that they miss Ronn so much.

 IMG_9082

I saw this video that was clearly posted a while back on Youtube and shared it on Facebook because it made me cry. A fan obviously went through a great deal of trouble to make a video of precious and heartfelt moments between Brooke and Ridge that was intercut with sound bites from Ronn. It was so moving and heartfelt that I could feel the pain most fans are going through, as I was a fan myself.

One of our devoted fans from Slovakia posted the video on our fan page and suddenly the video was blocked with a message that the content was owned by “The Bold and The Beautiful” and has been blocked on the grounds of copyright.

Wow!  Could this be more obvious? The whole world has been watching this show forever and look for their daily fixes of the past now on Youtube and suddenly a video that has been up for months is suddenly taken down once it was shared by me?

This video was made of clips that had been on the Internet for years and was a beautiful expression of love. So the fact that B&B has taken it down speaks volumes don’t you think?

The summer has been flying by and Player has been consumed with rehearsals for their upcoming Australian tour in November. However, they have a rare east coast appearance in Annapolis, Maryland on August 23rd and unfortunately I won’t be there. I will be making a rare appearance of my own in Long Beach for Glamourcon.

Today is also Player’s lead singer and songwriter Peter Beckett’s birthday and I must say he is just getting better with age. His voice is phenomenal and if you haven’t seen Player I suggest you take this opportunity to get your tickets to this rare performance now!

Peter-Beckett

Player’s newest video “Man On Fire” was written by Peter Beckett and guitarist Rob Math and will also be featured in the upcoming movie 411. They will be singing this song along with other new songs from their latest CD, “Too Many Reasons” including the title track.

We have been putting snippets of their rehearsals up for you to get to know the other band members. Jawn Star on vocals and keyboards, Rob Math on guitar and vocals, and our newest member, Jimmy Carnelli on drums. Player was recently featured on General Hospital and Celebrity Wife Swap and has been invited to appear on Hallmark’s “Home and Family Show” soon.

Also look for Player in an upcoming issue of Westlake Magazine. These bad boys are back and better than ever and I am so happy they are getting out there for you to see them now. I’ve had the privilege of seeing them in our garage on a regular basis and know you won’t be disappointed.

A Bitch Called Karma

Ronn recently said he saw a great saying on Facebook that said, “Karma is only a bitch if you are.” I thought that was a fantastic saying and so profoundly true.  I think you know me a bit better by now and know that I use the word bitch with humor most of time. Since I’m into animal rescue it kinda goes with that and I love to call my husband a dog, affectionately and also with humor. So he sometimes calls me a “bitch.” I know he means it affectionately depending on the tone of his voice.

However the phrase, “A Bitch Called Karma” I think has a different meaning and the timing of how karmic things happen and to whom they happen to and why, is what I mean by this phrase.  There has been a lot of that karmic thing happening to many aspects of our lives both professionally and personally due to the choices we make in life.

Our decisions and choices play a big part on how karma works in our universe. “You reap what you sew” as the saying goes.  Lately karmic timing has been playing a big part in our lives and the universal magic has been testing us with wonderful lessons. It is during these life lessons that I am feeling most grateful to learn from them and grow my soul. Life isn’t always unicorns and colored lights in a fantasy atmosphere, well maybe sometimes it is.

DSC00020_2

Life isn’t always about how successful you are in the world’s eyes, because as we know true success comes with happiness from within. This happiness is at it’s greatest when shared with others.  It is sometimes during our greatest challenges that we learn our greatest lessons. And it is sometimes the journey of getting to your biggest goals that is the most exciting.

I’ve always had an adaptable personality regarding change. It didn’t matter where I lived or what I did as long as I felt happy and well, I could easily adapt to the change.  Some people cannot do this and live their whole lives in fear of the unknown. How can you know what’s out there if you don’t reach out and explore?

It is usually fear holding us back and keeping us safe. Recent career choices have been a lot of trusting our inner gut and the universal energy to guide us. It has led both Ronn and I to sharing more of ourselves with you, and have led Ronn back to his roots with music. The past couple weeks has been hectic because Player’s new drummer has had to learn their whole set of songs and Peter Beckett is a perfectionist when it comes to the music. Ronn loves having the guys over and everyone usually stays overnight because of the long drive for Johnny. So this means lots of male bonding that includes, action movies and of course buckets of wine.

10511205_10203429796082253_8808951499836129072_n

I don’t mind because the music these guys make together is magical and I’ve watched the evolution firsthand.  They are all so talented and the music is so good that I never get tired of listening to them. I know our neighbors feel the same way. So I can bet that the upcoming Ramshead concert this Saturday will be most exciting. Women will be throwing their bras and panties to these guys and I can understand why!

I will be hanging out with some of my Playmate sisters at the Long Beach Glamourcon and am really looking forward to that. It’s been a long time and it’s okay to be apart sometimes in a marriage. Since we are both working and having fun doing the things we love.

DSC00006_2

It was a blast as usual to go to Hef’s famous “Midsummer Night Dreams” party. This year party had cirque du solei girls and “Pitbull” as the star entertainment. The party felt more like a gorgeous nightclub this year. It was obviously sponsored by “Patron” and had a more corporate feeling to it rather than the exclusive vibe of going to visit Hef at his home.  Gone are those years never to be seen again. Playboy is now all about the brand. Hell we even got temporary tattoos of gold and silver bunnies on different parts of our bodies that we can’t take off now as a result of that evening! It was great to see a few familiar faces and to run into iconic Playmates like Ola Ray who still looks fabulous and is now blonde!

DSC00008_pp

Getting back to that “Bitch called Karma,” I use that phrase to make a point of how things in our lives change sometimes for the best. However, the choices we make and we must make them constantly, can move us forward of backward depending on how we handle others.  Both Ronn and I are extremely straightforward people who try and live our lives better tomorrow than we did today and always with love, respect and gratitude.

Gratitude In Chaos

I’ve been feeling a bit edgy and swamped with mundane paperwork for various things that make me feel anxiety, so I had to stop and reflect on what it all meant and what could I focus on that would make me feel differently. During this process I discovered that simply feeling grateful for the wonderful things I have in my life like that hubby of mine was enough to change my mood. Then I expanded that feeling to all of you and how chatting with you every day from different corners of our world was so profound and interesting. It showed me how quickly we can change our mood or thoughts to reflect the positive rather than the negative.

It’s hard to believe how much chaos our world has become. I guess it really has always been this way, but with the Internet, TV and mobile phones we just know instantly what’s happening as it’s happening. And most of what we see isn’t pretty or positive to lifting our spirits into the never- ending sky of the heavens.

So we continue on in this journey called life trying to have gratitude in chaos. We continue to love with an optimistic view of the world in this chaos of struggle with economic factors and hatred. We watch people do ghastly unspeakable things to each other in the name of God or Government and we still choose to love with gratitude in chaos.

I say this phrase “Gratitude in Chaos” because it seems everywhere you turn in our world there is chaos and it’s so visible and in your face with technology today. It becomes harder to stay focus on mundane things and still stay in gratitude for what life is has become.

How can I stay in gratitude for the constant fighting, killing and abuse that is bestowed on just about everything and everyone? How can I stay in gratitude for struggling to survive our environment that has been riddled with pollution or even live on mother Earth who has been depleted and neglected?

Life has become so negative and the focus on everything negative the world has to offer; It’s often more exciting to the masses.  Still I choose gratitude in chaos. It is during these trying times that we need to stay calm, focus and feel the gratitude for the things that we do have and not feed into the fear or what we don’t have or think we should have.

It is during these most trying times that we grow the most. So it is also during these times that we should stop and make sure we still have gratitude during the chaos of the things around us.  When we choose to do this we are choosing love and spreading it out like ripples in a pond.

I’m speaking this way because it’s important that we collectively stick together and when we do our thoughts become really powerful. Change occurs during these times and what changes we experience, depends greatly on our mindset.  So if you guys are feeling any anxiety over the state of our world, you can help us all by feeling a bit of gratitude in spite of all the chaos. The choice is really yours to make.

Clearing The Past

This past week has been filled with important, but mundane paperwork that has been needed for various things before we get ready for the Player Australian tour in November.

It’s all been part of clearing the past to make our future a bit brighter and for our focus to be consistently more creative. I’ve found it hard to concentrate on creativity when dealing with paperwork involving business.

1504053_556595951099244_1409139383_n

Nevertheless, we must sometimes focus on the mundane things in life if we are to keep things in balance. I try to do this in every area of our lives as much as possible. Thus, the inspiration for my book, “True Age, Timeless Beauty.”

10006597_281857031981052_287548002_n

When we clear the past of all things that aren’t needed or wanted, we make room for new things and tell the universe we are ready for a brighter future.

Ronn was swamped with press interviews from Australia, including an exclusive for the magazine, “New Idea.” He’s also very busy putting his musical set together for the solo portion of his upcoming Aussie tour. We also entertained friends from Belgium and Italy about possible projects relating to music and television.

10599572_10152672712008156_8153915665991390464_n

In addition to that he is preparing to shoot new episodes of “The Bay” in October, as well as, preparing for other film and TV projects that are in development for next year.

It seems like this year has flown by so fast and we have been working so hard at making all the projects happen, but there is only so much time in a year. We did take some time out for fun with artist Michael Moebius, photographer Terry O’Neill and our introduction to the one and only Raquel Welch on her birthday.

10644811_10152734188563156_8766084167563636054_n

Ronn also enjoyed presenting a best actor award to Daniel Baldwin at the Burbank International Film Festival last weekend. So we are finally enjoying some creative time at home this weekend.

10645050_10152738879803156_7099105741580752258_n

I try and pay attention to things that are required in clearing the past even though some may be mundane because I know it’s the universe’s way of saying better things are coming as a result.

I want to congratulate Julie Wooldridge on winning an autographed copy of “True Age, Timeless Beauty” for subscribing to my Woman to Woman website and thank you all who continue to support my writings. I’m so happy the book has been a inspiration and have already begun a follow up to it that I believe with help change lives.

There is still a can of Devin’s Kickass Cajun Seasoning to give away for subscribing to this blog so that you never miss another post!

I’m working on a FREE ebook of Gluten-Free recipes to give away soon! And we want an Aussie to get the chance to win dinner with Ronn and be featured on Ronn’s Garage! Details coming soon!

It seems clearing the past has already been bringing new and interesting things into our lives and Ronn has been asked to host a show called “Hot Package” for the cartoon network. We have also been asked to guest star on a new celebrity cooking show that will film this October, so I will keep you posted on that! In the meantime, we will post a new livechat this week, so stay tuned!

Life’s Little Blessings

It’s been a hectic time for both Ronn and I as we are dealing with many business related things before leaving for Player’s Australian tour. Ronn has been in the throws of editing a new Ronn’s Garage and putting together a visual presentation for his solo part of the OZ tour which has gotten a tremendously positive response. It’s apparent OZ loves Ronn and he loves those Aussies! So this should be a super fun tour and the first time Player will perform overseas, so the boys are really excited!

10563140_10152652288124391_8164508943817922020_n

Player’s new drummer, Jimmy Carnelli is an expert diver and is looking forward to diving the Great Barrier Reef and I’m looking forward to meeting so many of you! Of course I will be blogging and doing Livestreams to keep everyone feeling like you are right there with us! Right now I’m just grateful for life’s little blessings that have been bestowed on us recently. In spite of the setbacks that I’m sure all of you can relate to in one way or another, sometimes setbacks are indeed life’s little blessings and a way to help us stay in gratitude.

Since our world’s economy has been in the toilet for quite some time, financial times have been trying and economic setbacks make living in our society a strain for many. One has to constantly evaluate their situation and prepare for the worst, yet hope for the best. It’s all we can do and my heart goes out to all who are in economic hard times right now. I think we can all relate to the suffering that is going on in our world and how it has a trickling effect on the masses. I have a section in my book, “True Age, Timeless Beauty” on finances and how to overcome the stress to keep things in balance.

10006597_281857031981052_287548002_n

Trust me, I can relate and know what I’m talking about because I’ve been there many times in my life and it’s during these hard times that life’s little blessings appear through these hurdles in ways you may not recognize at first glance. I’m saying this because I feel the pain of our world suffering when I read tweets and postings of others who are going through hard times.

Life’s little blessings can sometimes disguise itself as an obstacle and the timing could be leading you along a path that is to your benefit. Right now Ronn and I are dealing with such obstacles in many areas of life and they are turning into pure blessings. So I have learned to welcome the obstacles and merely deal with them with positiveness.

Wedding Pic 0004

So in preparation for this Australian adventure we are about to embark on, we are also getting ready to do an exclusive photo shoot together for the magazine New Idea this week. We are also celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary! Geez it’s hard to believe 5 years have gone by this fast! And Ronn is doing a table reading with the cast of “The Bay” this week for their upcoming shoot! I have finally posted a Livestream chat for Tuesday and I’m working on some new surprises! Can’t tell you everything right now, but life’s little blessings are upon us in spite of all the obstacles.

Blood Moon Rising

140411163359-01-lunar-eclipse-0414-horizontal-gallery

I don’t know about you guys, but this last week was a total trip for me, especially because I’m a die hard Cancer moon child! I don’t miss things like the “Super Moon” “Strawberry Moon” or the “Blood Moon!”

Just until recently, my feminine moods were tied to the frickin moon that caused many of the fights I had with my very patient husband. I remember the days with he and the girls would put up crosses and try and hide from me because of the blood moon that I experienced each and every month like clockwork.

So the thought of actually seeing that once in a life-time “blood moon” up close was exciting for me. I marked the date on my phone and went about life, but wondering what this blood moon would actually look like?

However, this past week turn my emotions into such a roller coaster that my moods were at such highs and lows based on each moment rather than a mere day. You see, I’ve been in tech hell with servers on websites and business things that made me feel like I wanted to pull my hair out!

I’m usually a fun and easy going person that loves to cook, go to parties or throw them and chat online with friends from around the world. But this past week I felt like I was lost in cyberspace without a lifejacket and trying to find my way home. I wasn’t sleeping well because I was dealing with so many issues from different time zones around the world. I know this sounds odd, but it felt odd to me because I couldn’t seem to exit this dread of constantly trying to stay calm.

Blood-Moons

So I finally decided there were some things I couldn’t control and I needed to just relax and enjoy an evening with my totally neglected hubby, who had watched me have sleepless nights and frustrated days, not to mention mood swings he hadn’t seen since my own blood moon days.

At one point he actually shouted, “This blood moon sucks!” Now this surprised me because he usually liked my rituals of cooking, entertaining and the celebration that I did during these times. You see when I’m feeling good during a full moon, it’s usually at its optimum. So to hear that we are going to experience an actual blood moon on October 8, 2014 just made me giddy with excitement!

I didn’t expect to have to deal with such huge peaks and valleys of emotions just before this big epic event. I also didn’t expect to have so many conflicts that I had to solve, which simply consumed me.

I started to think about what it meant because I knew the blood moon meant change. So I tried to remain calm and solve the obstacles and problems rather than just focusing on them. I started to feel the gratitude for the universe’s little gifts of things I didn’t expect to happen and how I grew from it.

bmr1

But what really blew my mind was as I was preparing to see this blood moon, I completed missed it due to all the distractions of problems that had to be solved. I missed this big epic blood moon that I had been so excited about seeing!

This experience taught me that even though I was preparing for something I was so excited about, life had emotions of ups and downs that took me on a roller coaster ride I didn’t expect. And through the change I have become more aware of the good that comes after what we think is bad.

So even though I missed this epic blood moon and I don’t miss my own blood moon, there seems to be a blood moon rising in us all that says, rise to the experience and see where that takes you.

Cool Change

So I’m finally feeling the sense of cool change in the weather and thought we needed to do some cool changes to our websites. It has been a while since Ronn’s site has had a makeover and was a way overdue. I felt like most of our websites needed a bit of something and wanted to make sure you are all with us in spirit if not in person on the OZ tour!

 Ronn-Moss_Devin-DeVasquez_0525.jpg

I can’t believe we leave just before Halloween so we will miss all the awesome parties around here, but we will be going to the prestigious Melbourne Cup! Apparently, there is a horse named after Ronn and it’s quite like our Kentucky Derby, so I must now decide on a hat to wear. There is a cool change coming to “The Bay” and we know how much you all are in love with the one and only John Blackwell. As producers on the already hit web series, I can tell you that these will be amazing chapters and there will also be a new music video of Ronn’s single, “Addiction” and all will be out before Christmas!

 Player

Ronn has a cool change coming with his very own “Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce!” And when we say “Kickass” we mean it! This sauce is great with our “Devin’s Kickass Cajun Seasoning” and we are already addicted to it in our household. It’s also made in Louisiana and has a sweet and spicy flavor that is also Gluten-Free! I hope you guys are enjoying the newest interview on Woman to Woman featuring Shauna O’Brien and her gorgeous organic garden. She and Kelly Emberg have inspired me so much in that area, so we are looking forward to more from our own organic garden. Since our health is indeed the most important thing, I do hope you all stay safe from the flu and that scary Ebola, but please do not live in fear over it!

 Spice.large&small365349

Ronn and I drink warm lemon water each day as a cleanse and natural boost to our immune system. We highly recommend it, especially now. I want to be strong and healthy to get through the OZ tour and I’m hoping to see many of you down under. So get your tickets now! Player is performing at the “Last Chance For Animals” fundraiser Oct 25 and Shelter Hope Pet Shop just released its 2015 calendar featuring me. Both these animal rescue charities are wonderful ways to help our little furry friends find homes, medical care and love. So if you want to help please purchase a calendar or make a tax-deductible donation. I’m hoping cool changes are also coming your way and we hope to bring Player to a city near you soon!

Hanging Down Under

This past week was a hectic one as we scrambled to prepare to head down under for a month. It was crazy busy for us because Ronn was shooting late days on “The Bay” as John Blackwell up until the day before we left home. So we didn’t get much sleep and there was so much to do before we left. I was busy putting the finishing touches to our newly revised DevRonn website in preparation for the launch of Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce. There is still a bit more things I need to finalize before we can start taking orders and I will let you know when that is soon!

RoNN's BBQ Sauce hot***** - Version 2

So as we continued to prepare to hang down under for the next month, I started to get excited about how much of an adventure our Australian stay would be for all of us. There are a lot of first time things that we are all doing down under. It will be Player’s first tour and it seems fans are super excited for them to hang down under with them! Ronn and I saw our first soccer game tonight as Sydney won against Mariner. It has been such lovely weather and I could see the excitement building as the friendly Aussies welcomed us with open arms.

photo 2-2photo 1

Tomorrow we head down to Melbourne for the elite Melbourne Cup as guests of Emirates Airlines. And then we will meet the band back in Sydney to kick off the tour. The Aussies have been super sweet and they seem to have missed Ronn greatly. The concert is selling out and Ronn has been doing tons of press on a daily basis.  New Idea magazine came out last week and this week Player will go on “The Morning Show” to sing “Baby Come Back” live. It’s so beautiful to see the reaction to fans here in OZ, they are just so genuine and down to earth. I have met so many amazing women and men who have a real admiration for Ronn and who seem super excited to see the concert!

FullSizeRender

Baby Come Back is now running in a Toyota commercial and has been for the past three years, so it made sense to kick off this tour down under. There is also a horse named after Ronn running in the Melbourne Cup and as guests of the Emirates Airlines we are proud to be here and looking forward to a great day! So far hanging down under has been nothing but fun and we are having a blast! I know the tour will be a slam dunk kickass fun time for everyone and can’t wait to share lots of pics and videos with you guys! Who knows I may just surprise you with a livestream soon! In the meantime, stay tuned for the launch of Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce and more amazing surprises!!

Our Visit To OZ

Our trip down under has been nothing short of an exciting adventure. Player has been on fire at every concert so far and the fans are showing the love for Ronn and the band after every show. Player and Ronn Moss T-shirts and CDs are selling like crazy and there have been some female fans that have displayed their affection for Ronn with a tattoo of his face on their thigh! And this fan was only 26 years old, which has been surprising. Seems we have been seeing younger fans gracing the shows that have been watching Ronn on B&B most of their lives! We even had a female fan who came all the way from Malaysia for the Melbourne show and told us that Player has many fans there as well.

Our tour manager Stu has been taking really great care of us backstage as you can see on the Livestream I surprised you guys with last week. We have been treated to great food and company by our promoter Enza and Roy Ortuso and each and every Aussie we have met has been so warm and friendly. Ronn’s cousin Joan and her husband David made it to the Melbourne show and it was terrific to see her. I have a few friends of my own that will catch a show while we are here that I haven’t seen in a while also. Ronn’s very own BBQ Sauce is now available for orders on our DevRonn website and it comes in a mild and medium spicy gluten free flavor that you will just love!!

We had a blast at the Melbourne Cup and now everyone is talking about Ronn’s man bun as they like to call it when he was a guest on Rove’s show, “The Project” yesterday. Magazines “TV Weekly” and “New Idea” have talked about Ronn’s visit and Player appeared on the popular “Morning Show” with their live acoustic version of “Baby Come Back.” It seems the press can’t get enough of them and it has been a bit hectic this past week with the concerts and all the press, so these past couple of days has been nice and relaxing for all of us and much needed.

It’s so nice to really see the beautiful country of OZ up close and personal. We even got to see some Kangaroos in the wild on our drive into Canberra. Next week we will all visit the zoo together and get to see more. Since we have been here it’s been expressed countless times that the fans are not taking to the Nu-Ridge very well and Ronn is and always will be their one and only Ridgerido and that’s never going to change for them. We love the land of OZ and we are looking forward to the rest of the tour and want to visit more often!

An Aussie Adventure

It’s hard to believe we are half way through the tour and our Aussie Adventure has been so amazing. The fans have been responding so positively at all of the shows and standing in line for hours for photos and autographs. They also seem to love the questions and answers from Ronn and the behind the scenes clips. There hasn’t been much down time the past couple weeks for Ronn with all the press, but now we have a couple of days to relax and regroup here in Sydney. So tonight we are going to see the group YES in concert and later this week we will have a private tour of the zoo.

The band has become tighter as a whole and the venues and stages have been so nice. I shot a lot of great video footage and wanted to share some highlights with you here. The boys are having a blast, having been eating quite well and obviously enjoying their Aussie adventure. It’s been weird for me being the only female hanging out with them and some of the things I hear coming out of their mouths having been so comical. I can’t wait for Eden to get here so I have another Player Angel to hang out at the shows with. Since the shows have been nearly filled to capacity, I have been sitting in the sound booth with our engineer Andrew, who I call my girlfriend. I’m so use to being up close front and center, but these Aussie women are so enthusiastic about the shows, that it hasn’t been possible for me to get that privilege so far. I don’t mind and have been having a blast watching the love shown to them. It’s been a dream for me to show you guys firsthand what I see all the time in our garage during rehearsals. Our Aussie adventure will continue and I will try and keep you up to date with more photos and videos along the way.

It’s strange being on the other side of the world where it’s summer in November and we are seeing Christmas decorations out, but it feels like July heat to us. And we are missing another Thanksgiving back home this year. All in all we are in major gratitude for all the love and affection you guys are showing us online and in person everywhere we go and sending you the love right back!

Player Down Under

As we come into the home stretch of the Aussie Player tour this week, it’s safe to say they have hit a home run with every performance and the fans can’t seem to get enough of them. There have been such a diversity with the audiences that attended the past shows. Women are coming with their moms, grandmothers and husbands to the shows and seem to really enjoy every moment of  not only Player, but Ronn’s playful interaction with them before he brings Player on stage. There has been a lot of laughter, dancing and photos after the shows. Long lines have formed for the purchase of merchandise and photos with Ronn and the band.

Last night the stage was filled with women from age 20-80 dancing to their encore and it’s amazing to watch how much fun everyone is having on this tour. We have had a hectic week of traveling between Coffs Harbour, Twin Towns and Campbelltown and back to Sydney for much needed rest. Peter was starting to lose his voice the past few days and poor Jimmy had a stomach bug from something he ate, but they pulled off amazing concerts nevertheless. With only three more shows left in this tour, we head to MacKay and Hornsby later this week and then it will be time to say goodbye to one of our most memorable trips.

We have all made some new amazing friends and the tour crew couldn’t have been more wonderful. It has truly been an experience of a lifetime to explore this beautiful country and the people here. So now that OZ has gotten to know Ronn a bit better and has been introduced to Player, it’s probably in the cards that we will someday return to OZ to rock out once again. I know next week is Thanksgiving for our friends back home and want to wish them a happy Turkey day. Speaking of turkey, we saw a few live ones walking around our hotel. We also saw these creatures called, “water dragons” that hang out like pets everywhere.  The boys freaked out over a huge snake crossing the road on our way back from Twin Towns and we learned even though it was huge, it wasn’t dangerous. It seems OZ has a lot of creatures that we just don’t have in America and alot of things that could be deadly. They also have creatures that look deadly, but aren’t. So I guess you just can’t judge a book by it’s cover around these Aussies.

There are pristine gorgeous beaches in northern Australia, but we had no time to spend on them due to soundchecks and three shows in a row. I did manage to visit one in Coffs Harbour briefly for a photo. Today Ronn and I actually saw the pool in our hotel for the first time in three weeks and did absolutely nothing. It was a good day to just rest and chill out after so much traveling the past few days. We were happy to see Player Angel, Eden join us last night and she was able to help me get the fans dancing onstage at the end of the night. I made our sound engineer Andrew an honorary Player Angel because he’s been the one I’ve hung out with the most during the tour and I now call him, “Girlfriend.” I do anticipate a growing number of Player Angels will be forming now and will have those Player T-shirts available on Ronn’s website soon!

Our Aussie Love Affair

close up of Koala

Australia has had an ongoing love affair with Ronn for decades now. It was seen firsthand during his last two solo tours, but magnified greatly during this last month as Ronn and Player toured around OZ. I saw the constantly quest for photos everywhere we went and from young and old, men and women, seems everyone was thrilled to see Ronn and show their love.

 Devronn on the harbour

That’s what’s so amazing about Australia, the land and people are truly beautiful and it shows in spades. They are polite with a light and happy attitude that says, “No worries mate, everything is alright.” So as we spent our last week enjoying this love affair, we knew we would have to come back to the reality of the fact that it was just a visit. However, the memories will last a lifetime and what memories they have been! Our Aussie love affair is indeed just beginning with new friends that we have made and new adventures we will be having together.

 Rob, sam, Pete

Player has now made a new stamp on the Aussie’s hearts and it was shown in their smiling faces, as they lined up each and every night to greet Ronn and the band for photos. The Aussies have a stamp on our hearts as well. We all enjoyed their hospitality and warmth everywhere we went.

Rob & Pete in concert 3

We were all spoiled to great seafood like prawns and oysters and fish and chips. Aussies also take their coffee seriously and their cappuccinos were amazing! There are even institutions dedicated to Baristas and coffee. However, these cappuccinos were strong and would have you hopping around like a Kangaroo if you had too many. I could only have one a day. The tour took us through some northern cities like Coffs Harbour and Twin Towns where we saw the most beautiful beaches, however we didn’t have much time to spend on them due to the hectic schedule of the band.

 angels

Ronn usually had press days on the days off, but Peter and Eden got to go further north and enjoy parts of Queensland. We did all make it to the Featherdale Park to see the animals together. And Ronn and I had a beautiful private tour of the Sydney Harbour compliments of designer, Cristina Nipoti and Vesna Perry.

 Kangeroo

Ronn and I had a hair makeover by fame hairstylist, Alan Buki and I was given an awesome flat iron for my hair by EVY personalized with my name on it. Our tour promoters Roy and Enza Ortuso treated us to some fabulous dinners and did everything to make us all feel at home. Player had the most fabulous crew taking care of them backstage with our tour manager Stu Marks, sound engineer Andrew Troy and Sam the man who made sure the guys were always in tune.

Roy & Enza closeup
But it was the devotion from the fans that was indeed beautiful to see at each and every performance. They expressed how much they missed Ronn as Ridge Forrester and let him know how much he meant to them. I saw mothers and daughters, grandmothers and husband and wives tell Ronn how much they loved watching him each and everyday for years.

I think it’s safe to say we will be returning to the land of OZ and I for one hope it’s soon!

Home For The Holidays

It has been so good to be home and see all of our dear friends during this holiday season. In fact, we have had non -stop holiday parties that we have been attending. Fashion designer Sue Wong had us at her spectacular home for her unbelievable holiday party last week. We enjoyed the Thalian’s holiday gala where Player sang. Player is now recording the 25,000th song for Songs of Love and will appear on “The Home and Family Show” tomorrow. And we enjoyed our dear friends the Cusumano’s holiday festivities.

DSC00046

Being home for the holidays is what we enjoy the most. It’s always so hectic to travel during the holidays that it is our preference. So this holiday season I am just so grateful to be home and sleep in my own bed. I’m grateful for all the love and support you guys have given us this past year during all of the new endeavors.

 DSC00015

Right now we are all enjoying the new episodes of “The Bay” and John Blackwell and as producers of this awesome series, we are anticipating some Emmy nominations next year! We are also excited about Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce and just know that the best is yet to come with that as we launch smaller versions of it, along with other Cajun products at DevRonn.

I’m not struggling to get into the holiday spirit after being in Australia during their summer. It took a while to adjust to being back home during a cooler climate and all the holiday festivities to get me into the spirit of it. I still feel so behind on things like cards and gifts this year and plan to do most of my shopping online! Actually, there is nothing I really want Santa to bring me except peace and love from all our wonderful family and friends. Please know how much we appreciate all of you and that we wish you only the most joyous of holiday seasons! I will post a holiday chat on Livestream soon, so if you haven’t joined Livestream please do so to chat live with us! Wishing you holiday blessings!!

Holiday Festivities

It’s been non-stop parties since we returned from Australia in celebration of the holidays. As always, it’s the busiest time of the year and I was not prepared at all for it. However, it was nice to catch up with so many friends that we have missed, since we have been traveling so much. I was very grateful for all the holiday festivities that so many wonderful friends included us in. I think as you get older there are just so many more friends to share and visit with, especially during the holidays. Isn’t that really what the holidays are all about?

We enjoyed Christmas Eve with my pal Tina Hillstrom who always entertains in style. Our Christmas day was a quiet one spent with our girls and I cooked a turkey breast, some stuffing and glazed carrots for our family dinner. It’s so rare these days to have the girls sit down to a dinner with us. Their lives are filled with their friends and their own activities that doesn’t include their parents. We did manage to attend a couple of parties with them and it was lovely to just have them around. We celebrated my friend Sandra Taylor’s birthday and saw Ronn’s upcoming 411 co-star Angie Everhart.

Now as we prepare to ring in a brand new year, I am optimistic it will bring us great blessings. As always, I tend to set goals toward the things I want and gratitude for the things we have already. This has always been my pattern and I highly recommend it. The universe has a way of balancing things out when you think this way. All of us are still going through trying times no matter who you are or where you live. We all have economics and politics to deal with.

Our wish for you is for nothing but health, happiness and prosperity in 2015! So enjoy all the holiday festivities and remember to always be grateful first and foremost for all the blessings you already have!

As we settle into this new year, Ronn and I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you all for the countless tweets, cards and gifts you have bestowed upon us this past holiday season. I feel like this past holiday season was one filled with the utmost gratitude for us. We truly have so much to be thankful for and I believe in taking nothing for granted, especially your health.  And so we welcome a brand new shiny 2015, a year we believe that will be one of spiritual evolution for us all.

DSC00014

Ronn and I plan on doing many interesting things together this year and I am super excited about them! Our latest venture of Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce is the bomb and is so good, it’s addictive! We plan to add blue cheese stuffed olives soon to DevRonn because Ronn’s loves them! And we are working on Ronn’s own wine! I plan to entertain more this year and get back in the kitchen with some new gluten-free recipes to share. Right now I’m still settling into 2015 and starting to organize myself from the craziness of the holidays.

Westlake Magazine’s Editor In Chief Rebecca Grossman

January has always been my quiet, get organized month. I believe if you start the year out with goals and keep yourself organized, it becomes much easier to handle all that life throws your way during the year. I’m also happy to announce that I have written an article on beauty that is featured in this month’s Westlake Magazine. I’m very grateful for editor in chief, Rebecca Grossman for giving me this opportunity and hope to write more articles for this awesome magazine.  We are also bringing back the DevRonn fanclub and I hope to do lots more DevRonn live chats this year!

Giving Back

We always like to start the year off with not only becoming more organized, but in seeing what areas of life we can give back to. Our passion for animal rescue, children’s charities and our troops are most near and dear to both Ronn and I. So we look for ways to volunteer our God given talents, time or presence to these causes. Lately, we have been attending so many parties that we have become utterly exhausted from socializing. I have a sort of introverted side to me that needs to be alone at times, even from Ronn. He has a side to him that needs time to devote to his love for music, photography and editing. So we try and give that to each other, as much as possible.

calendar pic copy

It isn’t always possible to have that alone time with each other and time for our passions. So we must make the time and take the time to do so. It’s all part of living a balanced life. Ronn and I strive to do this in every area of our lives. So giving back is just as important. We must protect our children, animals and environment because this is our future. Part of the way DevRonn strives to give back is with our spice, music, time and creativity to encourage others to do the same with their passions.

It is the reason we do a lot of the things we do that makes us happier people in general. I volunteered my time to helping Shelter Hope Pet Shop gain more visibility for the wonderful work they are doing and have done to save the lives of a lot of animals. Our combined efforts created the 2015 Shelter Hope Pet Shop Calendar, which 100% of the proceeds go to the shelter to save even more lives. Ronn and Player gave back to “Songs of Love” on the Home and Family show recently when they recorded their 25,000th song for 11 year old, Amber, who is terminally ill with brain cancer. It warms our hearts to know that just that bit of our time and effort helped make a difference, put a smile or saved a life.

So, this new year has brought some amazing opportunities for me to do something I do well and that’s throwing parties. DevRonn will help host a few fund -raisers this year that will benefit some of our causes such as, “Songs of Love and “Shelter Hope Pet Shop.” It’s also a great time for you to help us by sharing our posts and blog links to help create more awareness for these great causes. No matter how big or small, your voice helps and we welcome you to join us in giving back to our causes or ones of your own. Only by giving back can we truly prosper as a whole.

A Taste Of New Orleans

The past couple of weeks have been rather hectic for us. I spontaneously threw a fund- raiser for the “Songs of Love” charity on Grammy night and it was quite a turn out! However, it wasn’t without tremendous help from our very own publicist from “The Bay,” Tiffany Ladner who spent days on end putting it together.

11721_911815572172216_815129832263758342_n

It was also to launch Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce, which we all are very proud of. We had some amazing sponsors for what we believe will be the first of many Kickass parties! It was held at a lavish private mansion and in honor of seven year old, Neel who has leukemia. As you know by now, “Songs of Love” provide tailor made songs for children who are terminally ill. So we all got to sing the chorus to a tailor made song that Ronn recorded for Neel who beamed with joy.

1907945_911817292172044_1154239793413378710_n10987004_911829252170848_8770296377809294088_n

I came up with the theme “A Taste of New Orleans” and want to make this an annual event for “Songs of Love” in hopes that they bring more smiles of joy to children just like Neel. I think combining Cajun food, good wine and fun people around Mardi Gras is a great way to kick off a Grammy party and I think most of the guests that attended would agree! Ronn performed with Jawn Star and Jimmy Carnelli and we had a host of exotic cars from Cluricane 490 Wine and Spirits club membership who donated a $1300 door prize to some lucky winner to drive one of those babies!

IMG_5400

The night was awesome, but I’m rather tired from a entire weekend of charities. We had also attended the Charity For Charity event in Temecula, which was also a lovely evening celebrating the wishes of children with disabilities. Speaking of wishes, I know how much you guys have been wishing for more Ebay items directly from us, so there are tons of things in both of our Ebay stores just in time for Valentine’s Day. More personal things are coming for auction like Ronn’s very own Samsung Notebook phone!

Devronns A Taste of New Orleans Invite

I have some exciting news to share with you guys that will be coming up in our Valentine’s newsletter when you sign up on our DevRonn website. Now that you have been introduced to Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce, it’s time to fire up that grill and have a kickass party of your own!

Milestones

In this past week, we have experienced some major milestones in our lives. Creason turned 21, which is just mind boggling to me. Seems like only yesterday she was ten and only interested in horses. So it was only fitting that Ronn and I drive up north and visit her in college to celebrate her!

IMG_1423

Since her birthday fell on a weekday and she didn’t have much time to spend with us given her busy schedule in school, we took this rare opportunity to continue on to San Francisco. I hadn’t been there in over 15 years and had never been there with Ronn. It was wonderful to see this beautiful grand and unique city again. We stayed at the Hotel Nikko and had a wonderful dinner at Le Colonial, which featured a unique combo of French/Asian dishes such as, braised BBQ short ribs, which were to die for. Le Colonial also has a live band that plays swing music, so many people go there to dance. I highly recommend checking this place out if you visit San Francisco.

 IMG_1440

We stopped off in Sausalito for an afternoon cappuccino and enjoyed simply gorgeous weather walking around the cute little shops. And then we headed back home only to see Calee driving up in her new vintage VW Jetta, which she loves. Now this milestone really made me feel old, because I still have visions of Calee singing in her car seat at age five! I believe Calee is a wise old soul, which may explain why she loves everything vintage and classic rock more than any other 16 year old I know.

 IMG_1436

Now this week we will celebrate Ronn’s birthday, as we embark on an exciting new adventure later this year. The universe is working it’s magic in mysterious ways and I’m in awe and in gratitude for all it’s blessings. It’s so nice to see my husband so happy! Age is simply a number to us and we are embracing all these milestones with eagerness to see what’s coming around the corner. As we prepare for these changes, it’s clear to see that we are starting an exciting new chapter in our lives that we can’t wait to share it all with you guys!

 IMG_1438

Some of these changes will involve travel and all I can say is we may visiting a city near you very soon!
