A Blooming Spring

It seems as if Spring has sprung earlier than usual this year. I’m not complaining because it’s one of my favorite seasons. It’s so nice to see the flowers blooming and the time change has made our days longer. However, Spring for us means more parties to attend and this past week we attended two amazing parties starting out with our dear friend fashion designer, Sue Wong’s fashion show.

Sue was kind enough to want to dress me for her big event, but I had no time due to too many business meetings we have been having recently for Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce. So I found my own Sue Wong dress and enjoyed the festivities of her amazing after party that Jawn Star attended with us, along with Gun’s n Rose’s keyboardist, Chris Pitman. Sue always has great entertainment at her beautiful home, “The Cedars,” which can only be described as a work of art from the décor to the history of it.

Last night we attended the Mayor’s Mask Ball and got to wear our amazing hand painted and designed masks. Our masks were gifts and made for us by Sergio Boldrin. Sergio is the premiere mask maker in Venice, Italy. This event was for the UNCF and we were happy to catch up with our friend singer, Freda Payne. Also in attendance were the gorgeous Jayne Kennedy and Jeffery Osbourne. Ronn’s mask was a bit scary, but he got tons of compliments on it.

So now that Spring has sprung and our taxes are done, I’m finally have some time to focus on writing and more creative endeavors. We have some amazing projects forming that I will tell you about soon. Right now our focus is stopping to smell the beautiful roses that are blooming in our yard. I feel like there hasn’t been much down time for us and I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed. It’s important to take the time to spend with family and friends.

IMG_1647-1

We took the day off to spend with our friend Tina Hillstrom, who was our Matron of Honor. Tina, as most of you guys know loves to socialize and entertain. So I’m happy to share a video of her amazing afternoon lunch that she threw in honor of Ronn’s birthday. She taught her pet rabbits how to walk for their treats and it’s just too cute! So if Spring has already sprung for you, please take the time to stop and smell the roses. If you are still experiencing the harshness of winter, try to stay warm and look forward to Spring and all the beauty it brings!

Wine, Emmy and Song

This past weekend was so much fun for Ronn and I. We took a rare weekend to ourselves and went wine- tasting with some friends in San Ynez, which is outside of Santa Barbara. San Ynez is simply gorgeous and known for producing some amazing wines! It was a warm sunny day and a fun time with my girlfriend Sue and our new friends, Cara and Kyle. Cara treated us to a private tour of “Grassini Vineyards” who only produce 3500 cases of wine per year, oh but what amazing wines they are!

 10_21_13_grassini_1

Grassini was also named a finalist for the best wine of 2014 for Santa Barbara. It’s always such a treat to taste a wonderful cabernet, especially when you can be a part of some of it’s first growths. I happen to know a lot about fine red wines and have experienced some great grand crus. Ronn and I spent a vacation a while back in Bordeaux and of course we have some wonderful friends who are very educated about the fine reds. So whenever we get the chance to experience a new one, it’s exciting.

 20140705_182656_resized

Our dear friends, Mike and Caroline Cusumano are very educated on small California vineyards like, Grace and Harland from the Napa Valley, so whenever we hang out with them; we experience some great reds and learn more about wines we have never heard of. If you are a wine lover like we are, then this is great fun. I’d like to think my pallet is a good one, because what is better than food and wine? We then had Jawn Star and Jimmy Carnelli over for some musical entertainment and an excuse for me to cook up some good grub! I make them sing for their supper, so to speak. This time supper consisted of appetizers such as, goat cheese, arugula and prosciutto, along with, slow cooked tri tip with Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce, mashed potatoes and kale salad with fresh Strawberries.

After a meal like that, we always retreat to the garage to listen to the boys jam out some tunes. This is always a great topper to a fun day and a great meal. After this amazing weekend, I got a call from my pal Kira Lorsch letting me know that our Bay Family has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy! We couldn’t be more proud of and thrilled for this amazing cast and crew. Creator and executive producers, Gregori Martin and Kristos Andrews are simply talented and this is so well deserved. To think in only a few weeks, Ronn and I could be Emmy winners as producers is mind- boggling.

 daytime-emmy-awards-post

I was a bit surprised to hear the Daytime Emmys are being held on April 26th! That’s really earlier than the usual June. So I’m turning to designer Sue Wong for a dress to wear! I know how much you all love “The Bay” and if you are a regular viewer, you know how cool this series is! So we are all super excited for “The Bay” to bring home that Emmy!

Some great things are on the horizon for John Blackwell is all I can say! Some great things are also on the horizon for Ronn Moss. More dates are being added for the summer “Rock The Yacht” tour with Player, Ambrosia and Little River Band. There will also be some more surprises to share with our DevRonn Fanclub Members only. So be sure to join the club and find out first what it is!

Rock the Yacht

We want to wish you all a wonderful Easter and Passover weekend. This weekend is the 3rd Blood Moon and my feeling is that wonderful and positive changes are about to arise for all of us as a whole. Right now, Ronn and I are extremely grateful for the wonderful wine, Emmy and song we have already experienced and ready for what is ahead!

Winning

Ronn and I have been on a winning streak both personally and professionally in this past week. Starting with the Paul Newman event “Winning the race for charity” that we attended with Peter Beckett and Eden Ayers. Peter and Ronn performed at the Roosevelt Hotel along with members of “Little River Band” and “Toto.” Then we took off to Las Vegas with Peter and Eden to attend a private birthday party and got to see Winsor Harmon.

Charity+Screening+WINNING+Racing+Life+Paul+MiLaQdLsirtl

It was a rare weekend for us to reflect and celebrate winning some personal issues that we have been battling for quite some time, as well as, winning that Emmy nomination as producers on our amazing series, “The Bay.” We were in such gratitude and on a natural high just being with friends and enjoying the awesome music Peter and Ronn participated in along with other great artists, such as Jeff “Skunk” Baxter of the “Doobie Brothers” and “Steely Dan.”

IMG_2257

When we arrived home it was time to celebrate with parties that were leading up to the Emmys. I was thrilled to see our long time Aussie friend, Fiona Horne and spend some quality time with her, while Ronn went to the festivities for Pop TV and got to see alot of his fellow soap stars. Since “The Bay” was put in the category of “New Approaches” and held with the creative Emmys on Friday, it was not televised. Apparently, Pop TV which is the former TV Guide network only wanted shows that were broadcast on television on the actual Emmys this year. We didn’t think that was fair considering it wasn’t that way last year, but nevertheless, it’s the same Emmy! Turns out “The Bay” beat out shows from Hulu and Youtube  and took home that Emmy!

daytime-emmy-awards-post

We couldn’t be more than thrilled for this amazing cast and crew! It is more than well deserved and TV Guide said, “The Bay blurred the lines between prime time and daytime television.” So I predict “The Bay” could find a home soon on primetime television and maybe be the first show to win both a daytime and primetime Emmy in the coming years.

the-bay-series-emmy-celebrations-3659-X2 the-bay-series-emmy-celebrations-3931-X2

Ronn and I chose not to attend the awards and instead see John McCook’s daughter Molly’s show, “Cruel Intentions the Musical.” It was an awesome musical and we got to see Katherine Kelly Lang, John McCook, Scott Clifton and Kim Matula there. By the time we arrived home to the news that we were now Emmy winning producers, it made our evening even more special.

11094221_10153312120543156_4906574508475612635_n

We then attended the Emmy gifting suite and ran into more B&B soap stars we hadn’t seen in quite a while such as, Jacob Young and Ali Mills. Ronn and I will both get our Emmy in the mail soon and look forward to shooting the new season of “The Bay” next month!

Happy Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day approaching and this year flying by so quickly, my thoughts and reflections made me think of my own mother. She passed away when I was 30 and she was only 50 of breast cancer. Ronn lost his beloved mother at the tender age of 18. I’m sure a lot of you can relate to what it feels like to lose your mother at any age, as being very hard to cope with.

 IMG_0249

I started thinking about what it must be like for mothers, step- mothers, foster mothers or anyone who has nurtured another person in life. I grew up in and out of foster homes and never had my mother be a real mother to me. She had a nervous break down with I was only five and I really was more like her mom in many ways. Thus, requiring me to grow up very fast. Ronn says I really missed out on having a real child hood as result.

The Girls

The Girls

So as a step mom, I got to experience a lot of that through my step- daughters, since they have been in my life from ages 5 and 10. But, I have often been accused of not being maternal enough, even though I thought I was being that, as best that I knew how?

 ronn_moss_3119778

I never had that feeling of wanting so badly to have children when many of my other girlfriends had these urges years ago. Maybe it was because I had such a rough childhood and maybe it was because I knew intuitively that I couldn’t have children in this lifetime?

 dev and creason

Because of the loving care that many foster moms gave me growing up, I have compassion for children, especially those in need. I was always considerate of the fact that my step- children had a mother and never tried to be that to them. I instead tried to be there to help when needed and I very much tried to be a good step- mother. I tried to give them space to be with their dad, cook healthy meals for them, showed them kindness and compassion and I tried to make holidays fun memories.

 afcbd3ac7befd7a

I personally know how fragile a child’s feelings can be from my own childhood of loneliness. Thankfully, my step- children have had a wonderful childhood and I wanted nothing more than to contribute to that with kindness. However, it’s not easy being a step- parent, as some of you may know? Children are often in the middle of both of their parents in blended families. Sometimes, they are manipulated as pawns in battles between their parents, and more often the step- parent bares the brunt of the aftermath. I feel lucky to have two gorgeous intelligent stepdaughters that I hope I have contributed to in some positive fashion.

Jim Carrey in 3D

Jim Carrey in 3D

I know that every foster mother I had contributed something positive to my life. Just being there in any nurturing positive way for a child’s well being is a good thing. We have too many abused children in our world today. There are children who do not have anyone to turn to and those who are abandoned or terribly neglected. I personally have been one of those children and my heart goes out to each and every one of those who don’t have mothers.

 family halloween

So to all mothers out there, whether you have given birth to a child, fostered one, been a step parent to one or a surrogate, I for one wish you a wonderful mother’s day!!

Bayhem Mania Begins

Our Bay family has been on a world wind of energy since our first Emmy win for “Best Drama New Approaches” and our producing team is stepping it up a notch this season. We have all been working really hard to get ready for the best season ever! And after reading the next two chapters written by our talented executive producer/creator, Gregori Martin, I can honestly say it’s going to be quite awesome!

brandnewbanner_hard

We are all excited about the Bayhem mania that is taking place on the Internet. Seems there is quite a buzz about “The Bay” and what will happen to Sara Garrett. We know you are also wondering about Janice now that her daughter knows that her mother has been sleeping with her ex-boyfriend Peter and of course the dark and mysterious John Blackwell’s vendetta against his father who is the mayor of Bay City.

I can tell you there will be alot of suspense, surprises and of course dramatic moments in store for the new season, and some exciting new characters added to our already amazing cast. As a result of our Emmy win, it seems Bayhem mania is just beginning around the world, as more and more countries get interested in “The Bay.”

TERRI+2

We will start shooting our next season at the end of May into mid June and Ronn and I are really looking forward to it. The wonderful energy that has organically been created by our amazing team of producers is infectious and there is no doubt we will be looking at winning a few more Emmys next year!

Needless to say, Ronn and I will be total busy bees for the next few weeks. So I hope you all will go watch the past season of “The Bay” if you haven’t yet, so that you can get into the Bayhem spirit and understand why Bayhem mania is just beginning! So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride.!!

It’s hard to believe that almost half of 2015 has just flown by already and summer is just around the corner! This means Player will be touring around the USA with Little River Band and Ambrosia soon. Ironically, Baby Come Back was the song of choice that four friends were singing on their way from Miami to Los Angeles, when their tire blew out on the freeway! Thankfully they were all fine, but the video went viral with almost 5 million views thus far! This has caused many fans to request Player to appear on talk shows!

Ronn and I are really excited to go to NYC together in July when Player is on tour because after eleven years, we have never been to NYC together! So this will be super fun for us! Ronn has also been in the mood to do his photography and I’ve done a little modeling for him recently, we are now trying to find some more time to shoot more photos together soon!

Rock the Yacht

Ronn’s Kickass BBQ Sauce is starting to get quite a buzz and those of you who have tried it, know why. We will be informing our Fanclub members of some exciting news soon! Celebrating Summer

After an intense week of shooting “The Bay” we wrapped last Friday and I can honestly say; it will be the best season ever to look forward to! Ronn had a blast with John Blackwell and I think we will look forward to adding more Emmys to our mantel next year!

With Summer just around the corner, it was time for some Barbeques and that meant having a few friends over to celebrate the season finale of “Game of Thrones.” I kinda wasn’t feeling it most of the season and didn’t really enjoy it until I saw the last two episodes. The finale was an excuse for some of the die- hard watchers to come over to eat some meat and drink some wine. Ronn has his own goblet with a dragon on it, so he was pumped and ready!

This month is also my birthday, so we decided to do one of our Potluck Jam Parties so that we can visit with many of our friends before Player starts their tour with Little River Band and Ambrosia. This will be a great way to kick off celebrating summer because there is nothing like great food and friends hanging out by the pool with barbeques and great music!

Ronn and I enjoyed meeting author, Charles Dubow of the novel, “Girl In The Moonlight” at the home of my pal, Tina Hillstrom and it was also there that Ronn was presented with an original painting of John Lennon, compliments of artist, Josee Nadeau. If you recall, Josee was a guest on “Ronn’s Garage.” So we are looking forward to more gatherings this summer with friends as Player embarks on their tour, maybe at a city near you? In the meantime, you can keep up with us by subscribing to this blog or following us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

We hope you will celebrate summer with your friends and family and a little bit of DevRonn at your next barbeque, because that’s what summer is really all about, right?

Jammin The Night Away

June 25th is my birthday and it fell on a Thursday this year, so I really wasn’t thinking of doing much more than going out to dinner with the family. I didn’t feel like I could possibly top my big blowout a couple of years ago anyway. However, I found out a very special young lady named Carlyn had her 14th birthday the day after mine and she too was from my home state of Louisiana. Now Carlyn is pretty special because she is also part of our “Bay Family” which consists of quite a lot in cast and crew. Carlyn’s mother is our Bay publicist and Carlyn has diabetes. So when she expressed with such excitement that we should celebrate our birthdays together this year; I just couldn’t resist doing it to see her beam up with joy.

IMG_2320

Carly as we call her, was already planning what kind of cake we should have while we were filming the Bay and even though I didn’t have throwing a birthday party on my mind, it was impossible not to do it for her. I thought a good old fashion house party would be perfect. Plus, we haven’t had a Potluck Jam Party in quite some time. It kind of went with being a Louisiana girl to have everyone bring a dish and participate. I wanted to take the time to spend with Carly and some of my girlfriends who I had not seen in a while. So it was awesome to hang out in the pool and Jacuzzi with the girls, while we watched Ronn and his buddies grill.

 IMG_2318

Throughout the day, other friends joined us and brought over more food. Some of my girlfriends have autistic children and they joined Carly, along with PLAYER and some new and old musician friends we were excited to hear sing. One of those friends was the $100,000 Star Search winner in the singing category from my year, Miss Peggi Blu. I had not seen Peggi in 30 years, so this was such a blessed treat. She was joined by Guns n Roses Keyboardist, Chris Pittman and New Zealand’s Steve Cooke. Vocalist, Shannan Rene’ Parks brought the house down with her powerful voice and Carlyn surprised everyone and sang, “Baby Come Back.” I also got to hear our 16 year old Calee sing with PLAYER, and like her daddy, she’s got the music in her! Our little flower girl, Trease Baker showed off her set of pipes as well, and she’s only eight!

I cooked red beans and rice and we also had grilled BBQ chicken, amazing salads, fried chicken, potato salad and watermelon. It felt like we were right back in the south the way we were carrying on eating, drinking and dancing to some killer music! The evening flew by and needless to say, both Ronn and I were completely exhausted by 1am, which was around the time the last of our guests left. I had to see Ronn off the next day as he joined Ambrosia in Oklahoma for the start of their summer tour. So I’ve been left alone to rest and relish what an amazing birthday I had and how blessed I was to have shared it with Carly. I didn’t expect to have received so many amazing gifts, from flowers, orchids, perfume, candles, scarves, handbags, makeup bags, champagne, wine glasses, martini glasses, crystal candle holders, wine and gift certificates, cards and DVD movies, my birthday was filled with love, laughter and blessings galore!

 IMG_232110404254_10207373036466385_1982661625649247356_n

I felt 25 again and decided to switch my numbers to this birthday to reflect just that. I mean 50 is the new 30 right? Age is just a number anyway and I certainly felt good on my birthday just to keep up the pace with all those kids around me! We jammed the night away and it seemed to just fly by so fast leaving us wanting more. They say like energy attracts like energy and the energy all day was magnetic. We were all on a great high from the love and positive energy around us. It gave me such joy to feel that and to share it with Carlyn!

Life, Liberty and Loving Memories

As most of you know, Carly, who I celebrated my birthday with was hospitalized a couple days after our celebration and nearly died. She was in a diabetic coma for a while and only responded to “Baby Come Back,” ironically because her last fondest memory was singing it with PLAYER at our jam party. We are thrilled Carly is back with us after such a scary incident and look forward to having her sing that song again with the band as soon as she’s is out of the hospital and able. Life is so fragile and as time goes on becomes even more precious. Just to wake up each and every day is indeed a gift and a blessing that we should never take for granted. Ronn and I spent the 4th of July weekend attending parties at the Playboy mansion seeing old friends and making new ones at the home of fashion designer, Sue Wong and REO Speedwagon’s drummer, Brian Hitt.  It was so great to have a fun weekend to enjoy ourselves and Ronn wanted to see as many friends as possible before the Rock The Yacht Tour with PLAYER, Little River Band and Ambrosia starts on the east coast.

FullSizeRender-1

We relished having such a fun weekend and decided to also take some quality alone time in the mountains together. It was then that I learned that my co-star of the 80’s high school movie, “Can’t Buy Me Love” had passed away at age 43 only days before her own birthday. I was in total shock and disbelief because Amanda Peterson was just too young to possibly be gone. My first thought was this was an Internet hoax. However, the sad reality of the truth set in when I saw it displayed by so many magazines and news outlets.

 amanda-peterson-01-435

I thought back to the precious time I worked with this sweet amazing girl who was only 16 when we met. “Can’t Buy Me Love” was shot on location in Tuscon, Arizona for nearly a month in early 1987. It was my first speaking role in a film and most of cast was younger than me. I remember the first scene we shot was the when Cindy and Ronald break up in front of everyone at school and she slaps him. Amanda was so great, such a calm and seasoned actress. I was in awe of her instantly. We could all feel that this film was going to be a hit, so it was no surprise that Disney picked it up and got the rights to the Beatles’ song, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” changing the title of the film to be that and also making it a summer sleeper hit in 1987.

CBML_17

Thoughout the years, I have been asked if there would ever be a “Can’t Buy Me Love” reunion or sequel, but Patrick Dempsey and Seth Green were just too busy and Amanda retired from acting many years ago, so that was never meant to be.  Yet, that film was forever etched in many teenager’s minds as part of their youth. The film just resonated with so many. I have had many moments in my career that I have been proud of and this one is one of my fondest memories. Amanda Peterson will live on in our hearts and “Can’t Buy Me Love” will go on to become a classic high school film with an awesome message; that most people can relate to almost three decades later! So with love and light we send our dear Mandy to be with the angels because that’s who she was and where she is now.

A Walk Back In Time

It’s been hard for me to put the past week into words because our whole trip to New York and The Hamptons was quite an adventure. When I booked this adorable little bed and breakfast in Southold, because we were attending a wedding in the Hamptons; I had no idea how far I was from East Hampton where the actual wedding took place. On top of the fact that mid July is the busiest time of the year to even go to the Hamptons! So it took a bus ride called, “The Jitney” and two ferry rides to get to the other side of Long Island, once I landed at our bed and breakfast called, “A Walk In The Woods.” Trust me they didn’t name it that for nothing, because it’s nestled right in the woods with nothing around it for miles! There isn’t even a sign to find it and our taxi driver got lost in the woods trying to find us! So it’s really a miracle that we made the wedding fifteen minutes before it started considering what we went through to get there.

walk in the woods copy

You see it all started with a walk back in time for me when I got to see Ambrosia, Player, Robbie Dupree and Stephen Bishop onstage together for the first time in Jersey, Staten Island and New York City. The venues they played at were simply gorgeous and the audience couldn’t get enough of the music. That sound takes you back in time and they are all just simply amazing! So the shows were so much fun and it was obvious that the fans felt just like I did. The boys got mobbed after each show for autographs and photos and I predict they will be doing a lot more shows! So if you haven’t caught one yet, you are really missing out! After three concerts,  Ronn and I had to catch our Jitney to make the wedding and couldn’t find the pickup spot and ended up missing the bus we were scheduled and prepaid to be on! On top of the constant phone calls to Jitney, it started pouring down rain! I was concerned that we would even make this wedding, however kept the faith and was determined to get there!

IMG_2809

When we were finally picked up and dropped off in the little village of Southold, it felt like we had walked back in time. Everything looked so quaint and had that small town feeling everywhere. Even the Chase bank was small and cute. We then had to get a taxi to take us to our bed and breakfast place, “A Walk In The Woods” and he had a bit of trouble finding it. However, once we got there, we were greeted by the owner, Flo, who we thought looked just like Jeannie Cooper! I was already tired and hungry from the Jitney jaunt, but figured we had three hours before the wedding to get ready and get there. Flo informed us that we would have to take two ferries and with the amount of traffic around there, we could be hard pressed in making that wedding. Hey, I’m use to traffic in LA and this place seemed like a picturesque postcard that you saw 30 years ago of a small town, how much traffic could there possibly be? Ronn and I decided to take a little nap in our adorably decorated room.

FullSizeRender-2

I was quickly informed that a car would have to pick us up two hours before the wedding to get us through the ferries to get there on time. So there was no time to nap, we had to get showered and dressed and get going! The process felt like we were characters of a romance novel trying to get to our destination as we were scooped up in a car and the car drove onto the ferry parked with other cars as we sailed across this body of water. It was something both Ronn and I had never done before and it was a gorgeous day, so we were enjoying it. Ronn got out of the car and took photos of course. Flo was right, it took every bit of time we had to make it through the quaint little villages that led up to East Hampton and to the Maidstone Inn where the wedding took place.

IMG_2818

Needless to say, we both downed a couple of glasses of champagne immediately upon arrival to toast the fact that we made it on time! When the bride and groom learned about our adventure to get there, we were offered a room that became available nearby so that we could join them the next day for their wedding brunch. So at the end of the night when we tried to get a taxi to take us 3 miles down the road, we quickly learned that would be impossible because of all the people that were in the Hamptons. So Ronn thought we should just get some exercise and walk it since it was a beautiful night. It was a good thing I had on flat shoes, but walking 3 miles was not easy at midnight after a few glasses of champagne! This adventure just didn’t stop! The next day after the brunch, we headed back to “A Walk In The Woods” to enjoy our last evening and relax. We even saw a deer walking around who stopped and took a good look at us!

IMG_2815

IMG_2821

After our Hampton experience it was time to head to New York and see some sites, such as, “The Freedom Tower.” Again it was a lot of walking around, but totally worth it. We ended up in “Little Italy” for a great Italian dinner at a wonderful place called, “Puglia.” Ronn and I enjoyed walking around 5th avenue and Bryant Park where several fans from Italy recognized him and asked for photos. Our adventure continued as we made our way to Times Square. I said goodbye to Ronn as he continued on to Ohio for his next concert and I spent the day alone drinking in Park Avenue and made my way to Gramercy Park to visit my fashion designer girlfriend, “Lantie” before heading off to the airport to return home. It truly felt like I had walked back in time and returning home felt so great. Reflecting back on the past week has become a memory I won’t soon forget. It’s great to have these kinds of experiences, but there is no place like home!

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time in a mansion unlike any other, there lived a man who made his life a fantasy. He threw the most beautiful and unique parties. Once such party was called, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and everyone was required to wear their most creative sleepwear. Fairies and butterflies fluttered about, while women and snakes danced and everyone merrily ate the most delectable foods.

There was music and laughter throughout this mansion, yet the man who made his life a fantasy was not in attendance. He graciously let his friends and guests enjoy his beautiful party as this had become a yearly tradition. As painted naked ladies danced the night away, stories of past “Midsummer Night Dreams” were told by those who relished telling them.

Those who were on the exclusive list of people invited were totally in awe of what they saw and had sweet dreams of all that was beautiful and good in the world. There was a glorious full blue moon that was shining brightly enough for magic to happen, as bunnies hopped along with fairies and goddesses spreading love and joy to all.

Bruna In Beverly Hills

It seems Ronn Moss has had a love affair with Italy since the very beginning of his acting career. He shot his first movie, “Hearts and Armour aka “I Paladini on Mount Etna and Rome, which was years before “The Bold and The Beautiful.” So it’s only fitting that he begins a new chapter in his career with a sitcom. I think you know by now just how goofy and funny my husband can be. I know it was hard to see Ronn any other way, but as Ridge Forrester because that is all he did for so long. But now, Ronn wants to play as many different roles as possible. You have seen him as John Blackwell on our Emmy award winning series, “The Bay.” Now you will see him play a much lighter character as John Wright in the upcoming sitcom, “Bruna In Beverly Hills.”

When Ronn was given “Bruna In Beverly Hills” to read, he wanted my opinion and I thought it would be totally an awesome role for him to play. Bruna is the Italian mistress of a highly political man in Italy and she is full of passion. She runs away from her lover to America and works as a maid for the Wright family bringing all that is Italian to her new American family.  This project is indeed a family affair and was written by the woman who will play Bruna herself, Laura Fuino. Together with executive producer, Kim Kopf who stars opposite Ronn as, Sally Wright and Valentina Kamenov, as their daughter Stephanie makes this a typical looking Beverly Hills family.

BRUNA IN BEVERLY HILLS banner

Ronn is also a producer on this project, which is directed by another Italian, Max Leonida. You may have remembered Max from his appearance on “Celebrity Wife Swap” with us. I suggested my naturally funny friend that most of you guys know now, Tina Hillstrom to play Sally’s best friend, Elaine and then there’s Elvis, Bruna’s gigolo brother who rounds off our amazing cast. After a read through of the script, we are all totally excited to get this pilot shot next week!

IMG_2965

“Bruna In Beverly Hills” will be unlike any sitcom you have seen and totally hilarious. We are looking forward to giving you a sneak peak next week into these awesome characters and bringing “Bruna In Beverly Hills” to life. “Bruna In Beverly Hills” adds a little spice to everything she does and spreads love and laughter everywhere she goes. I know how much Italy has been missing Ronn and think this is the perfect role for them to see him in next. Who knows what other surprises we may add to “Bruna In Beverly Hills,” maybe a little trip back to Italy is our future?

Scoping Things Out Socially

It’s pretty apparent our world has gotten smaller, socially speaking. We communicate much differently than we did a decade ago and we can socialize with alot more people. It also apparent that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube have helped change our way of socializing and communicating instantly around our world. If you are a business and don’t have an online presence you will be left in the dust by your competitor that does. We now shop online for just about anything and everything and because technology has caught up with real time streams of video that we can now do from our phones, we are more social than ever before.

It’s a matter of time, convenience and instant gratification that we love and desire now. Our children have grown up video chatting with several friends at a time, unlike our generation who actually spoke to one person at a time on rotary dial phone. Our world has changed and is constantly changing rapidly into something that seems to be hard to keep up with. Just when you figured out Facebook, there’s another form of social media to learn. The latest is Periscope which I find easy, fast and fun and I predict will be the next big thing to have a grasp on. Why? Because there is nothing like being able to share video or an instant visual on what is happening in your life with the world if that’s what you desire?

Yacht Rock Revue

Scoping things out socially on Periscope with daily scopes will become the best way to check in on friends and family from around the world. Ronn and I introduced Periscope to the Yacht Rock Revue boys in Atlanta and many of you followed them directly on stage from my scopes this past weekend. It was mind boggling to have fans tune in from Japan, Russia, Canada and Italy all from one scope. Many of you thanked me and told me you felt like you were right there with us. As most of you know, we were doing Livestream chats, but there needed to be a strong Internet signal to keep things live and streaming without any buffering issues. Periscope seems to work anywhere and it works really well. You can really instantly chat with people worldwide and by tapping your screen give multiple colored hearts to the broadcaster to show if you like what they are saying or doing.

Periscope

Socially, this will surely be the next best thing to being there in person and what’s not to love about the power behind it professionally speaking? I have always loved marketing, it’s what I’m most passionate about doing. If I love or believe in something, I will shout it out and brag about to everyone. I also love sharing and have always been a giving person. It amazes me how some people online are not that way and will refuse to share or retweet something. That’s really what makes the web such an amazing thing is sharing and bringing our world together, making us all a bit closer.  I believe a person’s action online says alot about them as a person. The ones who refuse to share online or retweet isn’t a very giving person, obviously. I mean it’s really not a big deal to hit that button and it certainly doesn’t take a lot of time because you can do it from your phone now. So sharing really is caring and says alot about someone.

I love the scopes that share valuable information and teach things I may not have known. I am so happy to share and follow those people who are bringing positivity and light to others. So with that knowledge I share with you Periscope and hope that you will follow Ronn and I there so we can chat often, take you on trips with us and share more of our inner selves with you there. Just download the app and give it a try. I think you will not only find it entertaining and fun, but it just may make you feel a bit more connected to your friends around the world. When you view a scope, be sure to share it with your friends and tap the screen multiple times and give the broadcaster lots of hearts because the more the love you give, the more you will receive right back. The universe works in strange and magical ways and sometimes information is given to you at the perfect time. In this vast universe we are all tiny little specs of living matter that are all part of a whole anyway. So don’t be afraid to share who YOU are with the world.

End Of The Summer JamParty

As the boiling heat of summer has seemed to subside and we ease into September, I thought it was fitting to have a end of the summer JamParty for several reasons. One reason was I had promised 14 year old Carly, who you remembered shared my birthday Jam with me, and ended up in the hospital because she was in a diabetic coma!  Carly had sang “Baby Come Back” at our birthday party and that was the only thing she responded to in the hospital when she was in a coma. So I promised her I would get the boys together so she could sing “Baby Come Back” again and cook her gumbo because she’s a Louisiana girl.

Secondly, AMBROSIA and PLAYER have been bonding during their summer tour and it was an excuse to get them together for a good old fashion Jam. Ronn wanted me to keep this JamParty small because we have been so exhausted from traveling and shooting both “Bruna In Beverly Hills” and “The Bay” that we just didn’t have the energy to entertain too many people. Besides, we wanted to have time to actually talk to our guests. And it was so nice to finally have a weekend at home that we could spend with a few friends we hadn’t seen in a while, like my Playmate sister, Barbara Moore.

IOT Graduations

It was also nice to catch up with Jimmy Carnelli, Rob Math and Jawn Star who jammed the night away with Ray Parker Jr and Dave Amato from REO Speedwagon. We had to do this Jam on a Monday because it was the only day that all these musicians weren’t working or away on tour and trust me, it wasn’t easy to coordinate everyone’s schedules. Plus, it turned out that school started that day and we still had a couple of people that couldn’t make it. Nevertheless, it was a fun Monday night that I believe is start of many more to come.

Summer just flew by so fast this year for us, so an end of the summer JamParty was a great topper to a really fun summer! Many of you know by now, that Ronn and I will be traveling to Belgium for his guest appearance with De Romeos in concert on October 24th. You may get your tickets here. I’ve never been to Belgium and am greatly looking forward to that! Ronn has also been guesting on their popular TV show, “Familie” this past week as a secret agent.

There are a few more concert dates for PLAYER and AMBROSIA in mid September and I highly recommend you catch one of them if you can. Since they are both west coast bands, you may see more of them in upcoming concerts on the west coast soon. In the meantime, you check out a bit of our end of the summer JamParty!

I Only Want To See You Bathing In The Purple Rain

As many of us come to terms with the loss of our beloved Prince, it’s plain to see our world is connecting through his music and the lyrics. Little did I know when I met this amazing guy over 30 years ago that he would have such an impact on my life. So his death has really thrown me into a tailspin this past week and my emotions have been on a roller coaster. I never discussed my relationship with Prince other than with friends throughout the years because I always respected his privacy. Howard Stern tried to get me to talk about him on his show and I only stated that I use to wear his clothes.  Many magazines and press people were calling throughout the week and I just didn’t feel like talking to anyone. Prince would be laughing at that because he knew how much I loved to talk when I was younger and he was the complete opposite. He would express himself through the music and through gestures and symbols. But, it was because of my relationship with Tina Hillstrom, who is also from Minneapolis and who also knew Prince that I decided to speak to People magazine. I was reading so many stories and speculations over his death that I felt speaking about him now would be something that he would want. He would want the people who really did know him to speak out about him if they truly loved him the way Sheila E has.

Prince_zps2042b0d3.0Prince's Father & me

So to clear the record, my relationship with Prince was no secret! That was just a catchy title People decided to post. It was a well known fact I was around him for several years in the mid 80s. It was through Playboy that we met when I was shooting my centerfold layout.  His former manager Steve Fargnoli handled my career as an actress and Prince would ask me to escort his dad to his concerts. He tried to work with me several times and I was even asked to be in the “Diamonds and Pearls” video, but I was married to my first husband and moving across the country when I got that call and could not do the video. I am planning my own memoir of my time with Prince now to set the record straight because our relationship was one of kindness, innocence and beauty. It was a very precious and magical time in my life. Only a fraction of it was told by People. There is so much more!

prince_revolutionsingle_grandePrince's father and me

But for now, like everyone else I’m grieving the loss of a one of kind performer, a true artist and humanitarian who had given so much to so many. A man who couldn’t be defined by society rules because he made up his own. A special human being who had a lot of style, charisma and presence. Prince’s music and legacy will indeed live on forever and he will be the subject of many books, documentaries and movies. The imprint he made on this world was too strong and the hearts he broke both romantically and through the beautiful lyrics he wrote will be forever ingrained in our souls. There are no coincidences and people cross your path in life for a reason. I often wondered why Prince crossed mine? I was not a fan when we met, nor an aspiring singer or actress. It wasn’t even my idea to meet him and through a turn of events I not only met him, but he became one of the most intriguing people ever to cross my path in life. I am forever grateful that for a brief time in this world I was able to spend time with such a magnetic individual. I am eternally grateful that he saw something in me that made him want to have me in his life. Because never will there be another Prince and until we meet again on another plain in this thing called life; “I only want to see you bathing in the Purple Rain.”

The Message of White Owls

Ya’ll know we have been extremely busy recently shooting our Emmy award series “The Bay,” which we are very proud of and excited for you to binge on this summer, since we will now be on Amazon Prime! This past month has been emotional with lots of changes and business affairs that we had to deal with. I’ve always been highly intuitive and have learned to trust my intuition as my guide for important decisions in life. Part of that inner knowing guidance has to do with simply having time to be quiet and still so that you can feel where your intuitive guide is taking you.

This past weekend was a special full blue moon and I’m always even more highly intuitive during full moons. I was looking forward to this manifesting blue moon and feeling a bit overwhelmed and tired from all that we have been dealing with recently. Almost exactly at midnight last Friday, which was technically almost Saturday the 21st, we heard a strange noise outside our front door. It was a noise we had never heard before so both Ronn and I were drawn to see what it was and to our surprise we saw two white owls flying around us! We had not seen the white owls in almost nine years when we first moved into our home. The white owl was perched on top of our roof above our front door looking very majestic, and this was the first time I had ever seen a white owl. Our friend Leigh McCloskey who is very spiritual artist and writer said they were good luck for us back then and I believe he was right. We have loved living in our home where we have raised our two daughters and where we decided to get married. The watchful white owl was a blessing then and I believe is a spiritual blessing now!

The two white owls have been making a loud sound almost every night and flying around us when we walk out our front door for the past four days! Last night I practically had a totally conversation with one of them in the tree as they continuously made that sound for at least 10 minutes straight. And as always, they fly around us before flying away. I can’t help but think they are indeed a strong spiritual sign for us, because they are rare to see and they can see things we can’t. My psychic friends believe they are a blessed gift because they only come to those who share the same intuitive energy as they do. So I wanted to share the video Ronn shot of the full moon and the sound they were making as they flew around us. Each night the sound has become more frequent as if they are actually conversing with us.

Sometimes we must all slow down and take a deep breath and stand still so that we take in the signs from the universe that will guide us on our next journey. Ronn and I have many changes happening in our lives right now and many things to deal with, so it’s important to take our time and feel our feelings, stay connected and keep our eyes open for wonderful, magical signs, such as these.

Birthday Blessings

As I celebrated another year on this planet last weekend, I felt extremely grateful to have survived this past year given all the amazing people we have had to say goodbye to so young. It’s been rather emotional for me and I think when I get emotional I sometimes get really quiet and don’t feel much like talking or socializing. So I really didn’t want to do anything for my birthday this year. My birthday reminds of people I grew up with like Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, both who died on my birthday and how fleeting life can be. However, this year my birthday fell on a Saturday and Ronn has been doing a lot of great music with some of his friends lately and they wanted to throw me a little party. So I told Ronn he could for once be in charge of organizing it and I wanted to keep it small because I just didn’t have the energy for socializing with too many people this year.

IMG_5933

Our wedding was just over a hundred people and we didn’t even get to eat our dinner from saying hello and goodbye to friends and family throughout the evening. So I didn’t feel I had the energy to do that this year and I have way too many friends and didn’t want to leave anyone out. So I put a very short guest list together of people I had not seen in a while so that I could properly catch up and have fun without stressing over whether or not we would have too many people. We have also decided smaller groups of gatherings are a lot more fun! So if any of my friends who didn’t get invited to this birthday are reading this, please don’t take it personally. I just didn’t have the energy for it and wanted to spend time with friends I don’t get to see often like artist Jon Hul. Jon drove in from Las Vegas and was so amazing on the drums with the boys and he gave me the most gorgeous painting that he did of me and Bettie Page!

IMG_5957

IMG_5965

I also had the producer who cast me on Star Search over 30 years ago attend, Michele Buiton who drove in from Palm Springs and Playmate of the Year, Renee’ Tenison and her twin sister Rosie, along with Barbara Moore who I never get to see much of. Our friend Donnie hosted it at his beautiful home and I had one of my favorite liquor sponsors, “Purple Haze” as my birthday punch. Also a special thanks to Nathan  Wheeler of Blackhorn Imports for the Viru Valge Vodka and Rum!  Our very own producers from “The Bay” were gracious enough to be there along with our Bay publicist Tiffany Ladner. So I felt like I had a stress free birthday celebration and I feel nothing but gratitude and blessings right now for all the amazing cards and gifts from so many of you guys.

Right now I still have so much going on because I’m working on a TV project that I will share with you all soon, writing another book and selling our houses to simplify our lives since Ronn is touring more. I want to have less work and more time to socialize in the future. So please be patient with me until I get all my ducks lined up enough to be as social as I’d like to be and just know that I sincerely appreciate all your emails, tweets, postings and comments. Thank you Sue Wong and Jo Hilton for that fabulous Sunday brunch in Malibu and to my wonderful husband for making me feel so special.

Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel……..

It been a while since I’ve been able to blog because I had computer issues and had no choice but to learn to be without constant communication with the world here for a few weeks! Yes I have my Ipad and phone, but I’m just not able to do some things that I’m use to doing, such as the blog on them. I think the universe wanted to make me do without such constant instant communication to the entire world for a while, so that I could truly focus on other things that needed my attention fully. One of those things has been my new little love that I adopted from the Shelter Hope Pet Shop, Prince!

IMG_6190

Prince is my little tea cup Chorkie who some think it the smallest dog they have ever seen. He is only 2 pounds and is fully grown at two years old. A Chorkie is half Chihuahua, half Yorkie and his owners sadly passed away in a car accident about a month ago, so the family dropped him and his big mutt brother, Chester off to the Shelter Hope Pet Shop for adoption. Many of you know how much I love to do to help save our animals and my girlfriend Kim Sill, who started Shelter Hope Pet Shop is the poster child for saving as many as she can. Kim produced the documentary, “Saved In America” and told me all about this amazing little Prince on my recent birthday. As many of you know, I lost my Shih-tzu, Romeo three years ago and just didn’t want to take on the life-time responsibility of another pet because of the amount of traveling Ronn and I do these days. However, when Kim described the story of how she acquired Prince and his personality, I just had to meet him! Turns out we were a match and he’s been such a joy of love and tranquility that the whole family adores! Ronn, Creason and Calee all love the little guy and I decided to change his name from Spencer to Prince because he reminded me so much of the rock star, Prince. His personality is so quiet, yet he is full of energy and so smart for such a little dog. He also so sweet and lovable and sleeps with Ronn and I, but he’s also quite possessive already of me and barks when Ronn kisses me, which I must Periscope soon because it’s quite funny to watch!

Prince

So my summer has been flying by with dog day afternoons, doggie play dates and doggie cuddling as I’ve been bonding with my new little guy. I’ve also had to shift my attention to real estate this summer, as we are trying to consolidate and simplify our lives by selling off homes in order to down size and get rid of things we aren’t using or don’t need. I’m a firm believer in doing this yearly in all areas of life because sometimes having less is actually more. It’s a sense of freedom from too many issues that need to be addressed that take up time you could be spending with family. As we get older, it’s important to spend more quality time with friends and family because each and every day becomes more and more precious.

IMG_6121

So this summer hasn’t been as social as we are use to because we have had to shift our priorities to focus on new additions to the family, changes in our lives and more quality time with each other. I guess having the computer problems was good for me because it has forced me to put more energy and intimacy at home. Summer has also brought us two more Emmys to add to our home as producers on “The Bay,” which is launching on Amazon Prime next month! If you have an Amazon Prime account you will be able to catch new digitally remastered season one of fourteen episodes and binge into Bayhem! We couldn’t be more proud and excited for you guys to join in on all the exciting things coming up for “The Bay” this fall when the new season two is launched before Christmas! “The Bay” will also be available in Germany, Austria, Japan, UK/Ireland and China. Unfortunately, we do not have distribution in other areas yet and you will not be able to view episodes on the website anymore. We will be adding more countries as we get distribution in those countries. We will also be shooting more episodes this fall and I will keep you guys posted with behind the scene Periscopes from the set!

IMG_6172

In the meantime, I hope your summer breeze is making you feel fine and that life is treating you well with all the love and joy that life has to offer. It’s really the most important thing we can have and the feeling of love and joy will make all things possible even the impossible.

Our Ever Changing World

I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a blog and I apologize, but there just hasn’t been much time to do alot of the things I’ve been use to doing. As Ronn and I celebrated our seven year wedding anniversary, it seems life is passing by so very fast and changing even faster. All the talk about politics, ISIS, our environment, the economy, and all the in your face corruption that is just too bad to ignore is getting even more prevalent  Our world has gotten smaller because of social media and the fact that news is so instantaneous due to our advanced technology. It seems to make our world spin even faster and time to move at a different speed like we are running on empty. It seems like mankind has really lost his mind in so many ways. You start to wonder if you are trapped in a bad nightmare and if you will ever wake up?

wedding photo

I’ve always been a positive and optimistic person. It’s how I’ve survived a horrible basically non-existent childhood of abuse and foster homes and I truly believe in the power of your mind and focusing your thoughts on good rather than bad things in life. That’s why I do not watch the news and read about what’s happening instead of obsessing about all the negativity around us. I realize it’s always been there for as long as mankind has been here. It’s just instantaneously in your face 24/7 now. That’s why it’s so important for mankind to wake up and start monitoring their thoughts and feelings. It’s important that we live in love and not a fear based world.

Santa Cruz Sunset

I believe balance is the key to everything here and the only way to keep balance in all areas of life is by being able to feel and think rationally and optimistically about life’s journey. That’s the reason I wrote the book, “True Age, Timeless Beauty” to help people find balance and understand that your thoughts and feelings go hand in hand in manifesting your future destiny or turning back time if you so desire. The power to change things in within you! We cannot control others only ourselves and we must start working together as a united species if we are to have any real growth and enough positive change to overcome the negatives.

true_age_timeless_beauty

It is surely possible to do if we collectively decide to do it! Stop fighting to be right and start working for the good of all concern, which is our whole world. Stop thinking its their problem and not ours because at the end of the day we are all living on this planet together as one species called human beings. I guess I’m just venting a bit in writing this particular blog? Maybe it’s because the season is changing? The election for a new president is around the corner and more changes will surely come as a result of whoever is elected. Right now I wish everyone who take the time to stop and the hatred over just about everything and anything and look at the our world a little more lovingly for all the beauty it offers. Maybe by doing this, your thoughts and feelings may change and we can then all collectively start healing the wounds of so many.
